New PrestaShop Training Website

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

Please check out my new training website. This website is primarily video training, but will hopefully include other useful resources as well as it evolves.

I have a few questions that maybe you can help with?

1. What type of topics do you think would be most beneficial to you?

2. Please watch some of the videos and let me know how you would improve them?

3. I'm planning on creating a paid for product eventually. What type of PrestaShop training product would you be willing to pay for? I'm thinking it will run more than $60 and less than $100. It will be a substantial product with loads of training on topics that are useful to you.

4. Right now, most of my videos are about technical aspects of setting up PrestaShop. Would you like to see other topics such as how to set up a blog with your PrestaShop store? How about how to do correct SEO? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

Hey! I think it's a very good idea to create such a website :)
I am still in the process of building my shop with Presta and I would really like know more SEO tips. Maybe in the future I would like to add:

-- Blog tool

-- forum

-- feedback of customers that used/purchased my services

Thank you for sharing!

Missie,

Thanks for that feedback. I'm working on how to do those things right now. I have another website that I started using a Word Press theme and integrated a free forum software (SimpleMachines), so I know I can do that again.

I'm actually in the process of coming up with a totally new website since I'm going to have to shut prestashoptraining.com. As I found out, you can't use "PrestaShop" in your logo or URL because of trademark infringement. Bummer, but that's OK because I'll do better next time.

This is how I think I'm going to set up my next version after I decide upon a new name.
1. Set up the new site using a Word Press blog with one of my favorite themes.
2. Integrate a forum as a separate page.
3. Set up a prestashop store as another page

The next version of prestashoptraining.com will not just cover PrestaShop, but other e-commerce solutions as well. It will also cover general topics of e-commerce that are applicable across all platforms, such as SEO and marketing skills.

What do you think of that?

hello,

first, excuse my errors when writing, i'm learning english
i've been seeing your web page, and i think that it's a great idea.
I think that i would pay for this training course if it would have a complete agenda, from 'how to install locally and remote' to 'how to manage all tabs in back and front office'

in other way, what kind of software have you use to do the tutorials?, it's looks great, very good definition.

regards

Hi rraarr,

Thank you for the feedback. I was planning on designing my paid content in such a way that it would cover the topics you mentioned. Regarding the software for my tutorials, I use Camtasia. It's awesome software for screen capture on a PC.

Hi Everyone,

This is an update to my efforts in creating a training/tutorial resource for PrestaShop. I've created a new website at http://www.prestatraining.com/. It is set up in a blog format, which will make it substantially easier to view the videos. Please let me know what you think of the site so far.

As a favor, I would like you to take a short one-question survey to help me figure out what type of training resource would best help you. The survey can be found at http://www.prestatraining.com/question1.html. In return for your efforts, you will be entered in drawing to win one of three copies of the my new training resource once it is completed.

Thanks and I look forward to your feedback.

maybe you can include

how to create a basic module, Thing that you need to know on making a module
How to change the default theme into something extra ordinary

you need to definitely have a training video on "HOW TO UPDATE PRESTASHOP" and keep up to date with prestashop releasing it's version like hailstorm... heheheheh .. I think this is the most important training somebody should do.

ArchProject,

Thanks for the feedback. Do me a favor and copy and paste your response into my survey form at http://www.prestatraining.com/question1.html. This form allows me to track all my responses in one spot. That way I don't forget to enter you into the drawing.

Also, covering installing and upgrading PrestaShop will definitely be part of the program:)
