500 internal server error

Hi guys,
I`am having a problem importing a csv file into prestashop
The file imports ok if i miss out the image path but when i include the image path on the full csv file (10000 products) i get this error-

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

If i import only one line of the csv file it imports ok

can someone please help !

FYI.. i had this issue yesterday with a large CSV import;

I had to update my php.ini file where the max_execution_time (time-out) was set to 30 seconds. Increasing this to 600 seconds allows my CSV enough time to run.

max_execution_time = 600; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds

It should be in your home directory, if it's not there, you can create one.

To check if the values you are changing take affect, create a new php file

I dont have a php.ini file in the root directory
Iam new to this, can you tell me how to create a php.ini file to change the time to 600

If you dont have one then you can use the one i have attached to this post.
This needs to go in the root of your website host's directory.

If you still have issues i would contact your webhost and ask them to change this setting for you.

I have added the php.ini file to the root directory and found it to be no better,
I have been in contact with my host company and have modifyed the htaccess file to 600second but still no better, do you have anything else i can try ?

check if it was actually changed using phpinfo()

I have checked the php info settings and it is reading 600 seconds,
just a quick observation if i upload without the image url the upload runs ok

Hmm, then try to check the error log right after you get the error, it should have more details about it.
