My wish list to new features for Christmas

Recommended Posts

I began to use PrestaShop Wednesday this week, and that's not so may hours ago. Therefore my requests may already be possible (may be I have not learned it yet.)

Here is my wish list for future development:

1) Category Block: It would be great if it would be possible to create a link to for example a text file or to make a URL to a custom html file, that will be displayed in the middle of the screen. In that way it is possible to make the webstore not just a shop, but also a company website. The blog module for news is doing a great job for this purpose.

2) Minimum no. of units to be ordered is missing in the catalog/products of the Back Office. Example: it is only possible to order two or more units.

3) Disable webstore during maintenance and give visitors a message about that - "come back later after maintenance".

4) Back Office to edit the top menu, add new features into that menu.

5) The most important wish is this one: I would like to have all menus and headlines in several languages without being forced to add all the products for each language one more time.

Anyway,

PrestaShop is AWESOME!!!

1) I can see how this would be useful, though it isn't that difficult to just paste the content into "Homepage editor" module.

2) PrestaShop v1.4 has the option to specify a minimum quantity per product (see screenshot).

3) PrestaShop already has the option to disable the shop and display a maintenance message. Go to the Preferences tab and change "Enable shop" to "No", then click Save at the bottom. You can go to Tools > Translations > Front Office translations > maintenance to change the maintenance page text, or if you want to create a fancier page, edit maintenance.tpl in your theme's directory.

4) A menu editor would be very useful. In the meantime, you must use third-party modules like the Top horizontal menu (click the Télécharger button to download it).

5) I don't understand what you mean. PrestaShop has great multi-language support and lets you add different translations to a single product without having to create multiple products. Do you mean you want automatic translation of product descriptions?

Thank you for your answer.

5) When I enable a new language, let's say I am importing japanese language support, the bottoms and the headlines are okay in japanese language. Now, I have to enter text for each product in japanese language (which I can't read or understand). It would be nice if the shop is able to use the english text, if there is no translation for a specific product to japanese language. In that way I have japanese menus and headlines, and the specific product text is in english. Would it be possible?
