goobe1
HiHow do I tackle “Oversell”?A “to-be-client” asking if I could handle their problem…I list 5 Products and many many people want to buy it. Within 2-3 seconds of listing the products, all are sold.• Will there be a “Oversell”• Can Prestashop handle high traffic at any given moment? Thanks for answering
tomerg3
1) Use a proper title to you post (and read the rest of the forum rules....)Prestashop will not let you oversell a product, many people may add it to the cart, but after it is sold out, anyone who had it in the cart and did not complete the order, will get an error message saying the product is no longer available
goobe1
Hi,Thanks for your answer. Glad to know that Prestashop won't allow more then what is list. There thing you mentioned is that I should change the title of this thread, I'm not sure what mistake I've done but surely will look into the rules once again. tomerg3
1 word is not a title, a proper title should be in form of a question, which lets user know what to expect insideI.E: How does Prestashop handles "overselling" a productBad title: Help!, I have a question, need help, etc...... goobe1
Oh... all right! Will keep that in mind. Thank you! There was 1 more questions that I had posted in this thread and probable you might throw some light on it…My client produces about 12-15 “Handmade” products and she Lists these products on every Fridays at 7pm! There are hundreds of people waiting for those products. As soon as she lists them, in about 1 minute or 2 all these products are sold! In her present site, it’s not unable to handle the traffic and the site crashes! If I develop this site in Prestashop, will the site crash due to heavy traffic? tomerg3
it depends on where you host it...You should definitely not go with cheap shared hosting, but go for a VPS or a dedicated server.VPS goes for around $40+ a month, and a dedicated server go for around $99+I just started using Inmotion (hosting company) for a new site I'm working on, and I am very happy with the speed and the service.I have also outgrown my shared server for my own site, and will be moving to them in the next week or so.If you choose to go with Inmotion, please use this link to sign up as I am an affiliate https://secure1.inmotionhosting.com/cgi-bin/gby/clickthru.cgi?id=tomerg3
