Abandon carts strange pattern emerging

My shop has been live for a few weeks now and I have just noticed that the abandoned carts located under Customers/Carts appear to be creating a pattern.

It would seem that the same carts are being created by an unregistered user and then abandoned on an almost daily basis. I know this because the cart values are the same and the products added are the same but no order placed.

Is this a hack attempt ?

At the moment I am using only one payment method namely UK Barclaycard modue.
