Add new field to Customer Registration

Hi Guys,

I hope this is the correct area for this post.

I want to add and extra field into the CUSTOMER TABLE called REMINDER. I am going to use this to send a reminder of their password rather than the password itself.

I added the extra field in the DB and in the authentication.tpl I added the [ l s='Reminder' ] and in the authentication.php i added the $_POST string

but when i submit i get a completely blank page and nothing happens.

I admit right here and now I know nothing about php and am a total Noob at this. But after 4 day of trying to sort this out i am at my wits end here.

Can anyone help me ? PLEASEEEEEEEE
