Front-End slow load time 1.3.2 version

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Today, I got message from my client, what website made with Prestashop is to slow and because of that useless.
I tried to check that issue and it is really true.
Using Presta: 1.3.2 version
Host: networksolutions.com

Here is result of test (at the moment website disabled):
http://www.webpagetest.org/result/101026_9BP5/

I already use some mod's from that thread provided by presta-dyr:
http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/45000/development/slow_database_queries_identifying_and_fixing_dot_
I must say, it helps a bit

Also, I made basic performance optimization:
http://itcentralblog.com/?p=42
it also helps a bit

But website still have quite slow response. My client have only ~ 200 products with 6 categories and 8 subcategories. So it is really small website.

Please, help me improve loading speed. Every time, when I press new link, it take from 7 to 35 to completely load simple page! and 4-....xx second while browser start rendering. So I think it can be server or database queries related issue

Also, I enable cache var $caching = 1 , but tools/smarty/cache/ is empty. How can I check cache is working or not?

Any advice will be appreciated :)

I know what it is very serious and common problem with Prestashop.
It is such slow, what become almost useless, but ... from websites showcase, I see what there are many websites made by Prestashop which have really great load time.
So, there are solutions how to speed up Presta. Community please share them! :)

It is probably your hosting company and not Prestashop that make the page slow. Or if you use a lot of external scripts like Facebook that can slow down the loading time. But the most common problem is that people take the chepeast hosting company :) Prestashop is one of the fastest solutions there is

How can I check is it host problem or Presta.

I use really not so much module's. Even most default modules are disabled :)

From third party modules I use only:

cached categories - which speed up a little bit my website
lavamp menu
front-page slide show

That's it! :) Really not so much!

Please, let me know how can I check is it host fault

Of course, they are called Binero.se. I pay about 70 euros a year and I run the latest version and I believe it work fast. But there are a lot of hosting companies and it is hard to find the right one. If we think about SEO it is a bit negative to have a foreign server, or it use to be like that. Maybe Google changed that:)

  • 2 weeks later...

I have the same problem with 1.3.2
I have to shops up. They are exactly the same, only verison of PS is different. One is 1.3.2 and the other one 1.2.5

Both with 20 products and 2 categories.

But the 1.3.2 take 3 times longer to load the first page. So as I see it its a PS problem, not a hosting problem

Hi

I also had this problem. (Although it was the same in 1.2.5 and we are now on 1.3.2.3

But I think it's a bit better now - what do you think?

Have you tried following tips on the forums here such as compressing .css files?

Regarding whether it is a hosting problem - I think you can get a good impression of this based on the backoffice speed (I have never had a problem with this - only front office)
