how 2 Optimize prestashop load time.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Our shop is now finished we are now working to optimize our shops loading time.

We are using Lori (Life of request) a firefox addon that is showing the response time, load time, how many requset and how big the page is in KB....

our response time is 0,7s and load time is 10s the size of the load page is 327kb with 62 requests.

We use a category module from:
http://www.nethercottconstructions.com/prestashop-modules/1-ajax-sliding-categories.html

because we have a lots of categoryes!

We tried to fix the issues with this manual
http://www.nethercottconstructions.com/content/1-performance-tips

But when we enabel the cashe then we get token error when listing some categoryes. NOTE: not on all categorys
But the guide gets down the load time less that 1s and even the response time is dubbel down somthing abaut 0,2s-0,4s in response.

Dose anyone has expirience how to optimize a show with a lots of categorys and requsts then please let me know in wich way we can down the load time with no errors like we get with the guide above!

Most webmasters would consider lowering the actual number of products loaded on the front page. You can also arrange the categories in several levels so that you can have only top level categories displayed on the front page and sub-categories will be available under them.

Still, this would mean redesigning your store which is not really an option if you are happy with the current look and feel.

The cache is a good option but and if you are getting errors in certain categories try clearing the current cache. That should help.
