Yannkee
you CAN use Excel or stuff like that but before uploading, oepn your file with Notepad++ for ex and CONVERT it in UTF-8. It's all right.

FavMedia
Well, i have tried all these suggestions, yet it is not helping with my category import,I am going to have to do these rows manually, =(however soon i will be importing products for which i have too many to manually do,so i still need help with this!i have attached the new category file as advised by the feedback of this thread..maybe it has something to do with the records that exist in the database about my previous attempts at importing?will check back later
FavMedia
Sorry,..I lied,..It seems that the problem was not dropping rows, but the three missing categories were simply missing the "home" parent category, they were under other categories, probably due to commas not being selected as the seperator upon import!
