multi shops from 1 DB ?

Hi,

we want to build a huge database with products, different products

and want to have several shops, but to make it easy we want to make everything in 1 DB, and then just sign the shops up to the same database.

is this possible ?

short version, can we have several shops connected to same database ?

Probably, but PS does a lot of caching, so I'm not sure that would not cause you problems? I have had a db running for my testsite and my live shop, and PS has confused the two and allowed me to correct in the wrong one (this was 1.2.5 - have no idea if this is an issue in 1.3.1)

Also, I think you would get penalised by Google if you have several sites with the same database and thus same decriptions, product categories etc. I believe Google will see this as duplicate content - perhaps I'm wrong.

Hello,

it is possible to create several shops on the same database using and combining several things.

First you can use one domain per shop, and each field displays only one major category so you can separate your catalogs to avoid duplicate content.

To customize this you can use our module to have a template for domain name.
