blocks in header

Hi,

I have some questions concerning building a new templete for prestashop.

Whats the difference beteween 'Header of pages' and 'Top of pages' in the modules -> position area in the admin panel.

Whats the easiest way to place blocks in the header instead of in a column. I want to create a theme such as http://www.archiduchesse.com/ with categories in the top. And I want to have full control over the blocks instead of just adding them as 'Hook header'(With all the blocks attached in that hook).

I also want to ask for the best guide to learn more about Prestashop? I mean, this oscommerce really seems to be one of the best out there, but as far as I have seen there is no good guide about how to use it.

Best regards
André

Hello,

In the initial header.tpl file,

$HOOK_HEADER is defined before the </head> tag. So it can be useful for adding css files or custom redirecting scripts.

$HOOK_TOP is defined in the body, in the #header div. Here goes header blocks.

I don't think there is a easy way to place complex blocks in header, it's CSS and TPL editing (if you master html/css it's easy).

Dunno for guides, best guide i found is source code.
