seeing detailed order information after order is processed

Each product on my website has a number of different colour options. When an order is submitted and paid for, I cannot see the colour chosen by the customer, I just see that a particular item has been chosen, but not the specific colour.

For example, I can see that I have sold a jumper, but not whether it is orange, red, blue etc.

Can some one explain how to resolve this please.

You can control that by using different part numbers for each color. Then just control it by the product part numbers.
