removing last name field

Hi all, i want to get rid of the last name field in authentication , and just ahve the customer adding the whole name via 'first name' (after rewording it obviously). There's nothing worse than having to type your name in two seperate fields, it's anoying and alienates visitors.

I've removed it from $fieldsRequired in classes/address.php and also from the authentication and address template files, but its still asking for it when i try to fill in the form..

any ideas?

you have to modify the authentification.php too

hmm commented out anything to do with 'lastname' in authentication.php and its still asking for it..
