product with lots of options

Hello,

 

I have a shop with lots of products. 

Most of them have different options. 

I was able to deal with it using combinations, even thought sometimes it makes lots of them.

 

Now I have another product with more options than the other and it means a lot, lot of combinations. 

So many combinations that when I last saves the product combinations, I got a blank page. 

And now when I click on the product combination page, nothing happens.

 

So, to make it short, I'd like to know if there's a way to handle product attributes other than combinations.

 

Is there a way to do it by writing code, or using a plugin ?

This is my first question.

 

Second question: is there a plugin to handle product customization ?

What i mean is: I have a product with different options, and the customer chooses the options, it changes the product image depending on the choices (with product combinations and without to upload an image for each possible combinations, which is not possible for products with so many options).
