Adding Lists & Filters for Store Contacts Module

I see that the default Store Contacts module shows a Google Map with different store locations.  Would it be possible to create two separate lists for these store locations, since we actually wanna use this map to show our distributors, and then add a filter in the Google Map.  Example:

• Distributor for Products Type A
• Distributor for Products Type B

Is this possible using the Store Contacts module to do this, if so which files should I edit or what links can you point me too that can help me achieve this, if not what other approach do you recommend?
