Tpl system tables complicated .. anyone could shed a light ?

Hi,

Is there any documentation explaining how the templating system works in prestashop ... I find all this tables, rows, nested tables and rows pretty hard to get around with when trying to modify the invoice or quotation templates ... I am mostly interested in knowing more about the quotation tpl as this is the one I am trying to modify but there is always something going wrong in terms of layout ... also I am not sure if we have to use inline css or not ... well I am a bit lost withh this so any guidance would be muuch welcome.
