Cannot access modules page in back office after copying Easy Post Pro to modules folder.

I followed the instructions, which say just to copy the Easy Post folder into the modules folder, which I did.  It then says to go to the modules page in the back office and install the module.  However, once I copy the folder, the modules page crashes, with the following error:

Can't use function return value in write context

 

 

If I remove the folder, I can access the modules page again, so there seems to be a bug with this module.  Has anybody any experience with this module and know why this might be happening and how to fix it?  Tried removing it, clearing the cache, and the re-adding it, but I still get the same error.  I tried contacting the developer, but with no response.  Is there any way of complaining about a module on the Prestashop site?  I paid a lot of money for this module and the developer says that support was included in the price...they shouldn't be allowed to sell on here if they don't fulfil what they advertise.
