Cart Rule based on number of different types of products in the cart

I have a site with products A, B, C, D, E, F.  I would like to create a Cart Rule so that a customer gets a discount if she orders more than 3 different kinds of products, regardless of the number of each.  For example, if a customer orders 1 each of B, C, D, there will be a discount.  But there is no discount if she orders only 5 pieces of B.

 

Is there a simple way to modify the core code or an add-on that can provide this function?
