mytheory.
Hello all,I am just curious as to if there is some type of program/software, code, script, or whatever else that could test my Prestashop's load potential. I want to be prepared for as much as I can when I shop goes live. Although we don't expect a spew of people logging on from the beginning, but I want to make sure our server(s) can handle unexpected loads, especially considering the future. So we want to test how much information/customers can pass through our site without doing any harm, and what effects it might have on our server and speed. Also, if anybody that runs a huge shop with a large customer base that has at least thousands of customers a day, maybe you could explain any complications you might have run into or if PS is capable of handling such load. Thanks as always! nottasmartman
I have been looking for a similar script, as I have had to wait for go-live to see if updates and tweaks work. I maintain a store that is only open a week out of each month but I have a couple thousand users. On the day that ordering starts I get an error on and off for the first couple of hours that says "Cannot establish database connection." On top of some my customers not being able to access the cart for 2-3 solid hours, this issue causes PayPal to not be able to update inventory on my side after the transaction is complete. This has caused a few items with Quantities of 1 to be sold twice. I've gotten the run around from blue host as far as helping me with some vision into what may be causing the problem. At any one time I'm only using one SQL connection of the 20 or so that I have per my "unlimited" hosting plan. I do have a fair amount of CPU throttling as reported by cPanel but I haven't been able to verify resource usage myself through SSL because of access rights. I have an SSL connection setup, but I get denied trying to use certain resource commands. Other than the two hours of angry emails and calls I get each month plus the threats of lost business I like the cart. I understand that the cart is free, but it's still a little disappointing that I can't find any product specific troubleshooting tips from PrestaShop. I would even pay for a solid administrators guide.I'm using 1.3.7 and I'm waiting to hear the words stable before I update to 1.4.
