payment_return.tpl --> Newsletter subscription form / sign-up

I am looking for a quick solution to integerate a newsletter subscription / sign-up form right into the payment_return.tpl page.

I think the later is the page that is called for each payment option right after a successful order.

 

I think it makes sense to ask customers at this final stage of the order process to enter their email for the newsletter

AND

perhaps some surplus data.

 

We are selling toys so it could be quite handy to gather information about the age of the kids that going to get the toys.

 

I had a look at the authentication.tpl and there customers can click to get the newsletter and can also enter some 'additional data' into a form.

 

Well, I am no programmer nor very experienced with smarty. Could someone be so helpful to show me how to transplant these functions into the payment_return.tpl?

Or does a (free) modul exist here or anywhere else to get?

 

I own Vekia's HTMLBoxPro for example. Perhaps I could hook the code into this page?
