Add payment to existing order

Lets say I add a product to an existing order for a customer who paid with credit card. That means it's not fully paid anymore. 

 

I now want the customer to add another payment to his order. I want to show a link on the order for the customer so he can add a payment. Can anyone give me a hint on what I would need to do to make a module that do something similar? It would be hooked somewhere in order status for customer account.
