hiding colours without deleting in back end

Hi all.

 

Am having a real issue trying to hide a particular variation. For eg a product on my shop will have 10 colours and 1 may run out of stock.the option given is to delete the particular variation however this seems to prove a real length process when i want to upload the colour again when it becomes available. instead of deleting the colour when it is out of stock is there a way i can disable it on the back end so it does not show up on the actual shop and when it does become available all i have to do is enable the variation.

Are you using stock control within your catalogue?

 

If you use stock control it will not disable it, just show the option as "out of stock". You can then enable the notify module, so that the customer can add their e-mail address and get an e-mail when the item/s becomes available.
