1.6.1.6 Problem with send/receiving e-mails (order confirmation)

It seems I have a problem with e-mails. I made a few test orders and the "customer" account did not receive a confirmation e-mail, nor did I (the seller) receive an order e-mail. They do show up in my Dashboard though. What is going wrong there.

 

I also can not find where I can change the e-mail address I want to use for receiving an e-mail when a customer places an order.
