Hi Guys,

Having checkout and order creation problem.

I'm using the "PayPal USA, Canada v1.3.9 - by PrestaShop" and have Prestashop 1.6.1.6 installed. When customer checks out they are forwarded to PayPal for payment, PayPal provides order success page but customer is not taken back to our website for order confirmation. No order is created in Prestashop and customer does not receive any order confirmation from Prestashop. Only customer registration is created in Prestashop backend.

How do I solve this issue?

What is correct Return URL to setup in PayPal?

Do I need to turn on “Payment Data Transfer” in PayPal? If so where do I put the Idenity Token?

Thanks for any help,

Mike

Found the answer online. Hope this helps someone else. check out this link: http://www.presto-changeo.com/en/content/10-fixing-paypal-problems.  Needed to change permission to 755. Also had IPN turned off in PayPal, you need to turn that on and use  "http://www.yoursite.com/modules/paypal/validation.php" for the IPN URL (Instant payment notifications, under my selling tools>Getting paid and managing my risk>

"Try to open this page from the browser - http://www.yoursite.com/modules/paypal/validation.php, if you get an error (error 500, the page cannot be displayed), than this means you have a file permission problem. Most likely, the paypal directory or the entire modules directory is set to 777 and your host doesn't allow that (it is not secure); try changing it to 755. You can also check your server's error log (from your cPanel) to get the exact error. "

Ugh. That page doesn't even exist for me. I just installed PrestaShop last night. I set up a digital download item in my shop, and decided to test it out to make sure everything worked before going crazy with it. I am not in maintenance mode or anything. I am having the exact same issue as you, but nothing on this page seems to be relevant to me as a solution. After an hour of browsing this same issue, it seems to be a persistent one over the last few years. It's kind of a big deal! I'm not a programmer, either, so I'm not going to have a clue as to how to go through and change code. What file did you change the permissions on?
