Installation won't automatically start

Hi,

I followed the instruction and uploaded the server files to my web space. When i tired to use the recommended URL to install, I got a "404 page not found error".

http://my_webserver/prestashop/install/

 

I'm pretty sure that I entered the URL correctly. I was able to open an individual file on the server. For example, following URL opens fine in my web browser.

 

http://my_webserver//prestashop/error500.html

I'm having the same issue with all versions higher than 1.6.1.4.

 

It appears to be some sort of a bug with prestashop.
