Help with formatting cart & product purchase

Hi all

 

 

I really like the cart on my website header that shows products added/bought when you hover over it and has a checkout button at the end of it.

 

My issue is I dont like the pop-up/layout when you buy/add a product. Its ok when you add say one product, but when you add say a second and third it adds the total amount for three products but only shows one image and also then makes the pull down menu I do like a bit pointless.

 

I blocked the pop-up cart with "cart block" But then when you "buy" a product it takes you to the checkout.

 

So I also then tried to block the "quick order page" This meant if I buy something the payment page appears.

 

Is there a way that when I click "buy" on a product (Product A in the jpg) it will just add the product to the drop down menu I like (shown on the jpg) and keep me on the same page. Then when all the purchases are made a buyer can click the "check out" button to go to the payments page please?
