How To - Multistore Welcome Page Without Module

Hi all,

 

I just want to share my experience with multistore and welcome page. I found myself easy solution to have welcome page without any module.

 

So, how to do it? Easy. If you have your Prestashop installation in root domain do this.

 

• Switch your installation to mutlistore.
• Create 3 stores
• First on root domain ( mystore.com - this will be welcome page )
• Second and third configure as virtual folder ( mystore.com/firststore, mystore.com/secondstore )
• On root deactivate most modules except Theme configurator and install modules like HTMLbox (free), CSS module, Home text editor (it is no necessary to unhook any module, just disable them)
• Hook Home text editor to displayHome
• Use it to write HTML with links to your other two stores (logos in wrapper with links, etc.)
• Configure your two eshops
• Done

 

Finally you have three shops, but the root domain shop is used only as welcome page.
