MolonLabe505
I'm thinking about making the switch from Magento to PS. Tired of hiring developers to do minor things... Anyway, I am in need of the following feature, and hope it exists somewhere.. Some of my products can't be shipped by Air methods as per TSA regulations. So I need UPS Air to not be an option during checkout if one of those products are in the cart, but need UPS Ground to still be an option. Thanks in advance
MolonLabe505
Methods or Carrier? In the demo I only see by carrier..
Daresh
For each product you can set avaliable shipping methods.
Daresh
That's the same.
MolonLabe505
No, a carrier is UPS, methods are UPS Ground, UPS Air, UPS 3 day select. Need to disable air only on some products while still allowing ground.
Daresh
Of course, but speaking in prestashop terms, don't you have three different carriers set up for each of that method?
MolonLabe505
I have nothing setup. I'm still on magento. I want to switch but am making sure prestashop can do what I need.
ajensen27
This is how I have my shop set up. Economy (which I ship USPS First Class) Priority (which I ship USPS Priority) Express (which I ship USPS Express) If I don't want a product to have the option to go by Economy, I can go in to that product and select only Priority and Express. Does that answer your question? You can also do much more options with each carrier such as min and max price, min and max weight, certain states, certain countries, certain regions (i.e. US & Canada), etc. Tons of options for shipping. So you configure USPS multiple times? How does this look to the user on the front end? May I have a link to your store to look?
Daresh
Many prestashops are configured this way, the customer will have multiple carriers on the checkout page to choose from.
ajensen27
So you configure USPS multiple times? How does this look to the user on the front end? May I have a link to your store to look? Yes, you set up multiple carriers (USPS First Class, USPS Priority, USPS First Class International, etc). On the front end, only the carriers show that correlate to amount of the cart, weight (if products are set up for weight), country, state, etc. My store can be found here www (dot) L L m e d i c o (dot) com. Nice site man. I tell ya, just the fact that people actually respond to questions here is enough to make me jump ship on Magento. Im about 60/40 in favor of migrating to PS.. Im about 60/40 in favor of migrating to PS.. Thanks! They both have their pros can cons. Just keep doing research to make sure either one meets all of your needs, either with built in functions or modules. I looked at Magento before choosing Prestashop about 3 years ago. It's been pretty good for me since then and 1.7 looks like it's going to be killer. Going to be hard to upgrade from 1.6 to 1.7 though without professional help so you might want to wait.
