Issue With Cms Categories -- Can't Add Pages To New Categories

I created two new CMS categories today -- they don't show up as options to add new pages to.

 

All my original categories are there and I can create new pages in those as well as move pages to the original categories but I can't add pages to any of the new categories I create. The new categories are not present in the pull down menu.

 

I am using PrestaShop 1.6.1.2

 

Update:

 

I can rename old categories and the changes are reflected in the backoffice but they are not reflected in the store.
