Module Hooks Not Firing When Non Default Currency Is Selected

Hi all

 

I have a hook in a payment module which fires when on the payment page of the checkout - the hookPayment function.

 

It works perfectly when in the original currency (EURO). However, if a buyer chooses another currency (Dollars or GBP) the hook does not fire. So my questions are:

 

1) How do I get the hook to fire no matter what currency is selected?

2) Is there a way in the code to find out how many currecies have been set for a store?
