Does old form hook names work in Prestashop 1.6.1.1?

Hi,

   I am a prestashop newbie and a PHP newbie. I am using Prestashop 1.6.1.1. I find that some of the modules have old format hook functions instead of new format.

For example, I find 'function hookHeader' instead if 'function hookDisplayHeader'. will 'hookHeader' work in Prestashop 1.6.1.1 or should it be changed to hookDisplayHeader?
