Upgraded to 1.6, now Back Office search is very slow!

I recently upgraded my 1.5 store to 1.6.1 and everything went fairly smoothly. 

 

The only thing I am having trouble with is the back office search. When I search "Everywhere" it can take up to 35 seconds to find a single product. On 1.5 this only took about 2-5 seconds. 

 

The store is very large (about 4,000 products) but I had just as many when I was using 1.5.

 

Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?
