To provide unsubscribe newsletter link

Hi!,

       I am using Prestashop version 1.5.6.2.

 

I am currently working on to provided the unsubscribe link to newsletter email.

 

I just want to know the following details:

 

1) Is it updating the newsletter field in customer table is enough.

2) Any other is related with this process (newsletter subscribtion)

3) similary vice versa to reactive newsletter.

 I am using Prestashop version 1.7 and will also work on providing the unsubscribe link in newsletter emails.

 

What is the minimum required to make this work?

1. Is changing the value of "newsletter" field to "0" in "customer" table enough?
2. Is there a web API I could use for this?
