Where do i edit the Referral module CODE and GIVE Rewards to SPONSOR ONLY

Hello,

I would like to edit the referral module such that it rewards the sponsor/referrer ONLY. What i need is that the referred person should not get any reward or point. Its only the refferrer to get paid/points when the reffered person makes a suucessful order. So how do i achieve it or which file should i edit and what should i change?
