Remove column in CMS Page

Hi I am trying to remove the center and right columns in order for the CMS page to fit 100% of the width.

I have done quite a bit of searching and tried

1. #cms #right_column #center_column{display:none;}

 

#cms #left_column {

width:100%;

} 

 

on global.css, cms.css but it doesnt seem to work

 

2. Go to theme and disabled the columns right for CMS

 

Hope someone can help me on this one. been driving me a little crazy
