krusty4president
Hi. I am trying to use the combination generator but fail to accomplish what I need to get done. Please help. I sell hydraulic fittings and I am trying to create a prestashop product for them. One end of the fitting is in millimeter, 4mm 6mm 8mm 10mm the other end is with a thread in inches 1/8 1/4 1/2 3/4 The 4mm comes with 1/8 and 1/4 variations only the 6mm in only 1/4 the 8 mm in 1/4 and 1/2 variations when I use the combinations generator it creates all combinations of all millimeters and all inches. How do I create specific combinations?
krusty4president
Maybe I didnt explain well. Simply put: If it were shoes, certain sizes comes in certain colors. Not allsizes comes in all colors, which is the only thing I can get now.
Naldinho
You either need to create the combinations manually or use the combinations generator and then delete the combinations that do not exist. Either method will leave you in a situation where customers can order only combinations that exist but your shop will not adapt the options displayed to remove combinations that do not exist. That is to way when a customer selects the 6mm fitting the option to select a 1/8th thread will not disappear although the customer will not be able to order it. To make the non-existent options disappear the only option I am aware of is a module by Presto-Chango (the non-advanced version of Attribute Wizard). An alternative solution would be to make the different size fittings into individual products so instead of selling a product named Fitting you'd sell 4mm Fitting, 6mm Fitting, 8mm Fitting, and 10mm fitting and then each product would only have the thread per inch as an attribute.
