Changing length of 'new' status

It is easy to change the length of time that a product is marked 'new' and appears with a NEW banner.

 

I often prepare a new product page early then put it on sale when stock arrives, but it appears that the timing for 'new' starts from when the page is created, not when it goes on sale (prestashop 1.6.0.6).

 

Is there a way to reset an individual product so that the timing for 'new' starts again, instead of having to affect all products by setting a new number of days that apply to all?

the only way is to modify the date_add in the products table. you can do editing the mysql database (in the foorum is a free module called rsisql)
