Image Thumbnails not generating

I am using Prestashop 1.5.4.1 - afraid to update until I can make my current shop work.

 

Image default thumnails will not generate at all. They do not exist.

image that is trying to be accessed - example: .../1644-home_default.jpg or .../1644-thickbox_default.jpg

They never generate in initial csv load. They do not generate during regernate. I have tried all the image solutions that I have found regarding images showing up as questionsmarks, but none have matched the issue that I am facing that the images never generate appropriately in the first place.

 

The images will show if I manually add the pictures as the file names that are being searched for but I currenlty have 890 products, plus hundreds more that I would like to load once I can solve this issue.

This has been an ongoing issue for months. Please help!! ASAP I desparately need my site to work again!

ok, i recommend to at least update to latest ps version of 1.5

If you import from csv, maybe the original files are not stored, and you cant regenerate. tro to set your shop to disable legacy image system on images tab in preferences. also check if the images exists on img/p. you can check if disable friendly url and check the url of the images manually like img/p/0/1/2/656-home-default.jpg
