Add image to background

I want to add an image to the background of my site but can only find information on adding color, please advise.

Im using v 1.6.0.14

edit the global.css of your theme (usually themes/yourthemename/css/global.css)

 

and find the body section

body{

}

and use

body{
background: url(../img/back.jpg) center center;
}

the image must be on the img folder of your theme and name must be back.jpg

You have more options to the background image, just check in google background css property

I entered this in global css

 

body {

background: url(../img/back.jpg) center center;

}

  font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;

  font-size: 13px;

  line-height: 1.42857;

  color: #777777;

  background-color: white; }

 

I still have the same plain white background, I thought maybe I needed to remove the background-color white making it none and still nothing.

I have been able to determine that if I go to the site and right click to view background the image is there just doesnt show up otherwise...powersauto.com

I dont see it at all and your looking at powersauto.com?

The only way I can even see its there is by to right click on the page and select "view background image"
