Mail marked as spam

Recommended Posts

Hello

I send emails to our customers 3-5 days after purchase and ask them to rate their experience. This mail is being marked as spam now by gmail and I wonder what I should do to go around this?

I've tried altering the email adress from [email protected] to [email protected] but the mail is still recognized as spam. Should I change the content or use another email template?

Another thing is that hotmail/live/outlook consideres all our mail as spam. I've tried contacting our email host provider but they say that there should not be a problem. Anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?

Sincerely

Hi there Cyberpunk,

If the emails were initially received properly then someone might have marked the email as spam resulting in lowering the reputation of your domain or of the outgoing mail IP address. In order to find out if the domain or if the IP address is blacklisted or marked as spam sender you can simply try to send an email from any of your email accounts via the SMTP service to a gmail account. The purpose of this test is to use an email account to send the email and not the mail function of the Prestashop application.

If that test email is also receive in the Spam folder then the issue cannot be resolved within Prestashop as it is related to the blacklisting of the outgoing IP address. If the email is receive properly then you need to simply configure Prestashop with SMTP settings.

Another option you can consider as possible solution is that you can sign up for the Mandrill service as it is free for the first 10 000 emails you send and it will ensure the proper delivery of your emails due to the fact that Mandrill is known to be verified sender.

Best Regards,
Technical Team

I've tested sending a test email from our domain to gmail.com usong smtp and it works and is not considered spam. How can I fix so that the template is not considered spam? Should I create a new one?

Sincerely.
