daxit_x
Hello I am trying to format a part of the text as list, I tried either ordered and unordered, in the back office looks fine, in the front office is NOT shown fine, lines are not preceded by numbers or dots as expected. Anyone had the same issue? Is there any known solution? Searching "list" in the forum does give 0 results Thank you in advance Edited June 4, 2015 by daxit_x (see edit history)
Rolige
This is not an error, is possible that your theme have a predefined CSS styles for this elements.
El Patron
I have same issue that has stumped some pretty smart people. I assigned to my in-house tech [spam-filter] and he could not fix. Holy cow.
daxit_x
Hi COTOKO and el Patron I agree with Cotoko about the fact that might be a CSS style of the theme, did not check yet, thank you for the hint On the other hand I am suspecting that also el Patron gave information that might explain the case also in my case (ahh ah ...game of words). As soon as I have time to check the CSS I will confirm if it is one or the other thing Why I am suspecting that can very well be the same thing happening to el Patron? Because I noticed that the newest releases of presta are much much better but still containing many bugs or behaviours that according to me should be deprecated, all of this ranging from annoying little bugs up to concepts I disagree with. So I did right to ask before loosing time to investigate.... I am happy... I take a chance to write what I do not like the most of prestashop, please understand me well, this mean that I like presta a lot, otherwise I would not use time to write it... 1) We should stress the developers about the tinyMCE, content is extremely important, YES is true, the results now look so much better than before, my compliment for the effort, but still presta in this respect is far from the competitors, as an example joomla is at a top level in comparison, using a free module like jce it works just great, not perfect but absolutely far out if compared to presta. In my opinion whoever want to write a bunch of line per product with scarce readability and little appeal can continue to do it Provided that certain products must be sold that way I won't blame anybody doing it, but in in general a great part of the products must be presented very well, with nice formatting and the ability to add some special features in the product page when needed without using addons or tweaks. Procedures to add in a very nice style videos, nicely formatted text, special fonts, frames with special code and other stuff should be very simple, good for everybody and not only geeks, I even added HTML5 3D stuff, but it costed me much effort, should be as easy as adding the code, no more no less. The same thing in Joomla using JCE and their media box (but also without it looks 10 times better and was 10 times easier to be implemented So I guess the twinkling dingles can wait or never come, I do not speak of that, but a more complete and exhaustive editor could be adopted natively, TinyMce is fine because it works, at very basic levels tough, simlpy ain't enough nowadays ... 2) Tags/keywords in the information dialogue of the product can be added in the most odd way possible, I do ignore the reason of this strange mechanism, according to me the best thing it does as main result is to make people loose a lot of time, why not write it as a comma separated string???? Incomprehensible!!! 3) the time limit session, actually it just do not work, the dialogue do not read the value in the configuration file and do not write the values input by the user in the same, there are a lot of posts about this and I think maybe only one string post explaining what can be done, very odd circumstance 4) on the same server two pristine installation of the same release behave differently when SSL is activated, one works and the other get crippled!?!?!? How does it come? Mistery, if there would any significant difference I would understand, but really, same template, same modules, same server, same version ,same everything and two different behaviours, just strange stuff I do not have time to investigate now, but I will need to fix the crippled one Both BO and FO gets crippled while called on the https protocol, it happens only in this condition, I mean that SSL it can be activated and BO/FO would work fine with http and NOT fine with https I guess that this mean that the installation looks deployed in the same way, but is not in fact, otherwise what explain that one installation works fine and an equal installation after few days on the same server does NOT work fine in this respect??? With this I want to express a feeling I have, presta seems sort of "delicate", can be easily tweaked in a transparent way to the user, who perform the same operations in the same way using the same release and might get different results, even in the same environment... yeah... not really a reassuring fact... Well, I hope that I can find a solution for this lists, I do not like the idea to not be able to create it when needed, some products are nicely present with dots, some technical products must have certain numbered lists also to assist the clients a t telephone, how much better is to say "please read the point n°5" instead than saying please read the LINE n° fine, I am not pretending that everyone i s an hawk and can count on the video the lines in a list to acquire a specific info. thank you My best greetings D.
