PatJ
Hello, Maybe this not very important, but I don't really know, so this is why I ask the question I am making migration tests from a PS 1.4.9 to PS 1.6.1.4 The migration process works fine and my shop is up and running. But when I look to html code (with ctrl + U in the navigator), I see the html code is on only one line. looking at the html code from my PS 1.4.9 shop, or from a basic 1.6.1.4 shop, the code shows "normally" with many lines. I attached both exemples The question are: - Why this ? what can explain this situation ? - Is it a problem ? - How can I change this ? Thank you for any suggestion, sample_html_basic_install.htm sample_html_from_migration.htm
pishkus
Please go to Advanced parameters -> Performance and see if CCC (Combine, Compress and Cache) -> Minify HTML is enabled?
PatJ
Hello, Thank you for your answer. Yes, It was enabled. When disabled, the code looks "normal" Thank you ! Any advice about whether using or not using this option ? I guess performance should be better when this option is enabled ? But what can be the problems when using it ? pishkus
PageSpeed recommends to minify HTML as well as CSS and JS: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/MinifyResources But in my opinion you should test and see how your server performs when minify is enabled and when it's disabled, then decide if it's worth using.
