Items cannot be removed from cart

Hello-

Note : My store runs on PrestaShop 1.4.10.0

A customer has 2 sold out items in his cart that he cannot remove.

This person is adding items regularly to his cart and makes a larger order once in a while, rather than ordering one item at a time.
In this case, 2 items in his cart have sold out and now appear as "Stock : 0".

Here the description of his experience :
"I've tried several different things to remove them -- putting 0 in the order number, pushing the minus sign to decrease the number to 0 -- but, since there are two of them and I can't get rid of both at once, the website continually gives me an error message and sends me back to the original view of the cart. As a result, there is no way for me to place a new order."

Has this ever happened to anyone ? Any suggestion as to solve this problem ?

I have completely removed the items from the store, but they still appear in the cart, so that won't work.

Last resort, I will add "fake" stock to each item and organize with the client to try removing the items then; but that seems cumbersome and doesn't look good for my store...

Case will be difficult (impossible) to reproduce without my assistance, but I suppose you might have some tools / tricks I'm not aware of ;-)
