Accessing Catalog form data on other tabs

Hi All,

 

Is there an official way to access data on other tabs product editing screens?

I've added my own tab and from there I need to see if an EAN code is present. If not, I need to point that out and offer other means of product identification in my module.

 

As those tabs load through Ajax calls I can't rely on the Javascript being there.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
