webgeek
Crazy problem.... I go to preferences / store contacts. I change the Shop Name and Shop Email. But as soon as I refresh the page, it reverts back to the DEFAULT information. I have searched google for hours trying to find a resolution to this problem, with no luck. What could be causing this? Could it be a permissions issue on a folder? Could it be a bug in the theme? Any help would be MUCH apprecaited.
El Patron
Hi webgeek, I try to help. login to hosting and open you PhpMyAdmin to access your database. Find table (your prefix)_configuration table find filed PS_SHOP_NAME (note PS_ maybe different if you used different prefix during installation). Ok look to see if there are two PS_SHOP_NAME if so delete (or rename the 2nd one). Repeat this for PS_SHOP_EMAIL hope this is it!
webgeek
I logged in to my phpMyAdmin, and there is no table with Shop_Name or Shop_Email What I found was: ps_shop ps_shop_group ps_shop_url Those are the only things there that have "shop" in them. Any suggestions?
El Patron
did you display configuration table starting at 0 for 500? that makes it easier to find. If so and sure not there...it can't be a permission issue because it is mysql update as opposed to file record. I suppose now the next step would be to enable PrestaShop debug mode (search if you do not know how) and see if any error displayed. Also check your error log from hosting maybe you have mod_secure or other message that will not ever be displayed when debug mode enabled. Note: turn of ps debug mode when done. razaro
Like El Patron said it is ps_configuration table and it that table try to find values PS_SHOP_NAME and PS_SHOP_EMAIL. That I saw happened when Prestashop is auto installed from Cpanel.
webgeek
OK. I just found PS_SHOP_NAME and PS_SHOP_EMAIL, and they have the default information there. Are you saying I should edit these two items with my information? By the way... there does NOT seem to be any duplicates of these items. Why do you think it will not update simply by adding the information in the admin area?
El Patron
Hi, without 'hands on' to various back office and/or server logs etc. And given they typical reason that one loses configuration changes as mentioned above, I don't really have any other suggestions other than turn on ps debug mode and see if any errors and look at hosting error log.
