jmass78
Hello, I have created my shop with version 1.6.0.11 and everything was working well. Today I decided to make it live and point my domain to the server and now Friendly URLs are not working. Anyone have any experience with this? I tried regenerating .htaccess file and that does not do the trick. I am also using Bitnami and followed some of their forum suggestions which also is not working. Thanks in advance for your help! shacker
ok, if you change the url of the site, make sure that your url is setted correctly into the tables shop*. Next, try to flush the dns of your connection . in windows , Go to start write cmd.exe, and in the command line write: ipconfig /flushdns site url? jmass78
Thanks for your help shacker. I indeed have the correct URL in the shop_url table. I also tried flushing my DNS cache on the pc im using, do I need to do that on the server? My site is Edited May 5, 2015 by jmass78 (see edit history)
jmass78
I also tried clearing DNS on the server but that did not help either. I read on Bitnami that for prestashop they use their own htaccess file in a configs folder on the server. Do you know if this could be the conflict? I have a message to them about it but have not received a response.

jmass78
even with cloudflare disabled I get the Prestashop 404 page and no images. BUt if I turn Friendly URL off everything works fine, with or without cloudflare.
shacker
with cloudflare you need to wait some time to update the cache.
jmass78
I think I will try switching to route 53 on AWS and see if that solves the issue
shacker
any news?
jmass78
Switched to Route 53 and Friendly URL is still not working. I confirmed DNS routing to Route 53 and Site works fine when I disable Friendly URLs. I know Bitnami has its own htaccess config file to access all htaccess files on the server and I feel like there is something wrong with that configuration. I have a message to Bitnami about it. But I will keep trying things out. I just dont know why it worked fine without pointing to a domain.
jmass78
Maybe I should point Domain to the public AWS domain name and not the IP? Not sure if that can be done but I will check.
shacker
have you done to IP?
jmass78
yes I did to IP now I have www pointing to Public DNS domain provided by AWS and Friendly URL still not working.
jmass78
I think I finally figured it out. Bitnami uses their own htaccess file at /opt/bitnami/apps/prestashop/conf htaccess.conf and I just needed to update the domain in that file to the domain I was using which included www.
