Email issue

When i try to set up SMTP as PHPMAIL is not supported with my hoster, i get this message

Error: Please check your configuration
Authentication failed using username 'discounttileandstone' and password '***********'

I have checked everything and it seems fine, i asked aol and they said it should be working, help please as the email is the main way we get sales.

I found this strange topic about this error.

In it, they concluded that for some people it helped to reset your Email password... (Don't ask me why)
