Migrating TEST server to PROD server

Hello,

 

I use this type of structure for my website : TEST server -> PROD server.

After upgrading PS from 1.6.0.9 to 1.6.0.14 on the TEST server, correct all the problems I met and add some new things, I would like to migrate it on the PROD server.

 

I want to know the best solution to make it possible ?

 

Remember that I need to keep my customers, orders, messages ... on the PROD server

And I can start all over my modifications on this one, otherwise TEST server has no interest.

1) Make a copy of your live site

2) Upgrade the copy.

3) Fix all the problems you encountered on the copy. And take the note of all the fixes. 

You should write a list of files that were changed during fixing process.

4) Turn off live site.

5) Make back up just in case.

6) Upgrade the site

7) Apply fixes. Copy files you changed on the copy.

8) Test registering and buying process.

9) Turn on back live site
