What's Prestashop like for building content pages?

Recommended Posts

I'm considering the move to Prestashop for a new incarnation of my e-commerce site, but i'm wondering what it's like for creating content pages?

I ask as i have more content pages (help and advice etc) than product pages (and i have hundreds of products!)

Is it more down to the theme i choose than the core prestashop functionality behind it?

the sort of pages i'm talking about are :

and

thanks for reading

has anyone got any thoughts on whether i can recreate these pages in a prestashop site?

i dont want to just copy and paste into a blank page as they won't be responsive ... i'll be choosing a responsive theme so i'm wondering what options are open to me?

Considering that your PrestaShop theme will most probably use the Bootstrap framework, you could use the HTML option in PrestaShop's WYSIWYG editor and write some HTML containing Bootstrap classes. This will definitely make your pages responsive and you can recreate some fairly complex layouts too.

sorry for the delay replying, the [spam-filter] and i have been away for a few days celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary...

thanks for the answers, food for thought there, looks to be ways i can do it and i actually really like the look of that panda theme ... been looking at prestashop and woocommerce themes for months and its definately one of the better ones i think

have you used it Craig?

I have a huge number of photos for some products, upto 32 for some of them, plus will be including a video for each product eventually ... i take it theres no limit to how many images i can add to each product?

i trialled create.net for a bit in my search for how i'm going to move forward with my site and they allowed as many as i wanted but i had to upload them all to a single folder and then tickbox choose them for each product ... i have many thousands of images and that would be a nightmare if prestashop was the same!?

would you know if i can get breadcrumb nav for the content pages, out of the box on themes, or is there a plugin if not a native feature?

sorry for mixing up more questions in here!

Congratulations on the anniversary.
I will be moving to the Panda theme. I currently use his other theme - Transformer (which is excellent), however Panda is just a bit better in a few areas for my needs.

If you have large numbers of photos, I would suggest using something like Store Commander where you can upload batches of images directly into the product record:
- Store Commander (on-line - quite cool) - try the free version - http://www.storecommander.com/en/ or
- eMagicOne (a Windows client) - a bit expensive but useful - https://emagicone.com/products/solutions-for-prestashop/

Prestashop does breadcrumbs out-of-the-box. Most themes allow you to customise this feature further.

I hope this helps.

Craig
