Parent category tree shows nothing

Hi:

 

I've installed Prestashop today and I've got a critical problem. When creating or editing a category, the "parent category" tree is always empty. Doesn't matter if I create new categories (always top-level ones, because I can't choose a parent category), that tree is always empty.

 

Same happens in products, where I can't choose a category (so an error is shown and product can't be created).

I've installed Prestashop 1.6.0.9 and 1.6.0.14, both in Spanish. I'm using Chrome 42.0.2311.90 m and IE 11.0.9600.17728IC.

have you deleted the root category and try to create again?

Yes, and doesn't work.

 

Finally, after some hours I've found the problem. As I said, I'm using the Spanish version of PrestaShop. In my case, demo comes without English. It seems PrestaShop looks for english names to create the tree and, as they don't exist, tree doesn't work. Solution: to add English and write an english name on everything. Weird. A bug, for sure, but this workaround works. They should take a look at this.
